ABOUT US

Boxer Angels Rescue was formed in the summer of 2002 by volunteers devoted to Boxers in need. We rescue and place Boxers in the Northeast. We do not have a
boarding facility, but utilize a foster home system, where Boxers who are brought into our rescue are placed while awaiting their "forever" homes.  The majority of our
volunteers are located in NY, NJ, and New England, but we may also work with families in surrounding areas.

In July of 2003, we received our 501c3 non-profit status which means that all donations to BAR are tax deductible.  We are a member of the NYC's Mayor's Alliance
for Animals.

With years of combined experience in Boxer rescue work, BAR volunteers respond to the continuing need to help this special breed. One of the most popular breeds today,
Boxers carry a heavy load: poor breeding and over-breeding; often mistaken for "good guard dog stock"; often used for dog fight training. Boxer lovers know that these dogs
are like children and only live to be cherished.

BAR Boxers usually come into rescue from shelter referrals or owner surrenders. We value our relationships with shelters and all-breed rescues, who work collaboratively with
BAR to ensure that homeless Boxers find the right adoptive families.

In February of 2010 Homeward Bound Boxer Rescue merged with BAR and added MD & DE to our operating areas.
