5/18/07 - I just wanted to let you all know that last week I had to make the very painful decision to let my girl Princess go. When I adopted her last year in April, I would not have thought she would have lasted 6 mos. She turned 11 that May 1st and had several medical issues. She was a sweetheart, and became part of the family very quick. I had never had a female, and what a difference. Let me just say that her name certainly suited he well. She was such a lady and an absolute LOVE.
To say we are heartbroken, is an understatement. I would have loved to have had her from a puppy, because she was certainly a one of a kind, but I am so glad that I was able to give her an amazing last year of her life.  I know she is up there at the bridge with all the other babies and no longer in pain. We are the ones in pain now missing her so.
I would like to thank BAR for the experience of adopting and I will certainly do it again in due time.
Thank you so much... Dana

4/1/06 - I got her! She is a sweetie and seems to be very comfortable already. She is actually snoring on my couch right now!! We are loving her up so she feels safe and secure. She looks EXACTLY like my Brutus. So much that it is kind of freaky.

3/12/06 - Princess is pending adoption

3/7/06 - Princess has had the best weekend ever since she has come to stay with us.  She was crated very little, and was very happy about that.  She did great and we are very proud of her.  She played outside and went for a short walk, as we are trying to get her built up for longer walks.  She also got to meet two of our neighborhood "friends" that Lexi plays with frequently.  She was a bit timid but did great.  She is doing well with a very watchful eye by me!!!  She really just wants love and attention and would do great with someone who's home a lot.

2/6/06 - Princess is very much in need of her forever home.  When we have visitors, she gives them the "sad eyes" that seem to beg for lots of love.  She really likes the couch and needs a home where she doesn't have to be crated so much.  She really just wants to be near you all the time.  She loves to be cuddled and talked to. Please give her a forever home with lots of love and attention.

1/31/06 - Princess has much more energy than I expected.  She was out in the nice weather yesterday and ran around, rolled in the grass and had a ball.  She really loves to just be near us or in the same room.  She will make someone special a great companion!!!  I can't imagine how someone could ever give her up!!  Their loss could be your gain!!!

1/30/06 - Princess was such a great girl at the vet's office. She is now up to date on her shots and all checked out. Her knees are sore so she is going to be taking 2 aspirin a day to see if this helps her feel better. She is sleeping in my office and snoring like anything!! She is such a polite, sweet, great girl.........and she's waiting patiently for a loving home where she can be a perfect companion. She actually wanted to play with Lexi today!!! How cute she is!!

1/29/06 - Princess is doing very well today.  She has discovered the couch and really likes it there!!  She talks to us a bit, but is on the quiet side.  Will be making a trip to the vet hopefully tomorrow for her wellness check and to have her undated on vaccinations. She likes to follow us around the house or be in the same room with us, but is getting comfortable very quickly.  More updates tomorrow.

1/28/06 - Well, after a very long and tiring trip from CT, Princess is here.  She was very hungry and thirsty and ate everything given to her.  She was quiet and content to sleep in her new bed and even when Lexi (my 3 yr old boxer) and I got up to answer the door bell, she watched and never made a peep.  She just moved her baby gate out of her way (guess I didn't tighten it well) and joined Lexi and I in the office to lay at my feet.  I think she just really wants to be with us.  We took her for a walk this morning and she is not a fast walker by any means, but was very good.
