3/28/11 - Chyna came to live with us last May.  I wanted to let BAR know that Chyna crossed the bridge this past Saturday.  It was quite sudden.  Friday night she was snuggling with me on the couch, like always.  Saturday morning she fell down and wouldn't get back up.  We rushed her to the animal hospital and learned that she had a widespread, fast moving cancer.  An internal tumor had burst and she was bleeding internally and was in lots of pain.  Even with surgery, her prognosis was a month or so, tops.  And that final month would be more internal bleeding, more pain, more suffering.  We decided to let her go peacefully, with no more pain.  At least I was able to hold her up until her last moment.
We are still in shock.  There is a huge hole in my heart right now.  I just can't believe that she's gone.  I've been holding it together most of the weekend for the kids and my surviving boxer, he's very sensitive to my moods.  I just wish she had more time with us.  She was awesome and I miss her, alot.  She's in heaven now, snuggling on the couch with my Dad.  He'll take good care of her ....

6/18/10 - Has it been almost a month?  It seems like Chyna has been part of our family forever.  She's doing great!  We went to our mountain house last weekend and she had a blast playing in the yard with our other boxer, Ty.  She has gotten really spunky in the past month.  We've discovered her love for footballs.  It's a hoot watching her chase the ball around as she is trying to pick it up.  She's even engaged fatboy Ty into several games of "pull apart the plush toy", stuffing everywhere!  She's awesome and we are so glad she came to live with us!

6/1/10 - Chyna came home with us on Saturday, 5/29.  It was a long ride from NY to PA and when we arrived home we were very tired.  I kept the house fenced into 2 sections for a few hours so Chyna and her new brother Ty could get acclimated to each other's sight and smell.  After all of the excitement was over and we took naps, we introduced the 2 dogs face to face in the backyard.  They sniffed a bit, then a neighbor slammed a car door and the 2 dogs took off running to the fence to bark at the noise.  At that moment, they just seemed to move in unison and all was right with the world, ;-).  We had one tense moment over a chewie which was quickly resolved by producing a second treat.  Other than that, everything is working out perfectly.  Chyna has adjusted to our home seemlessly.  It's like she's always been here.  She is awesome and we look forward to years of happy, calm home life!,,If interested, Chyna and Ty have a facebook page where our family, friends and fellow dog lovers can keep up to date on the boxer 'twins' daily adventures,,,

5/10 - Chyna has been adopted

5/13/10 - Chyna is pending adoption

5/5/10 - Chyna is the sweetest pup. She gives kisses and wiggles all the time. She is very gentle and has been an awsome house guest not 1 problem from her. She wakes me up in the middle of the night if she has to go potty and most of the time she sleeps all night. She has free run of the house while I am not home. She plays a little with my guys but they can get a little rough so I tell them to take it easy with her. She loves to play tug. She would be great with other dogs or by herself.

4/7/10 - Chyna is a really good girl she gives paw, sits I can leave her hang out in the house and she does not get into any trouble. She likes to play Tug with the rope and she loves to cuddle. She even runs with the guys in the yard. She is just waiting for the perfect family to make them happy  She is an AWSOME pup. She is gaining weight she eats all her food.

3/29/10 - Chyna is a sweet girl she has been a AWSOME guest since day 1. She gets along great with the 2 resident males and the 1 foster male. She has been eating great she get spoiled all the time she loves to be talked to and cuddle up in your lap. She has started to get a little spunky and plays a little with the guys outside. She has not gotten into any trouble since she arrived. She looks like she has had a hard life and is looking for a happy home to live out her life. She doesnt mind going out in the rain because she knows when she come in she will get towell dried and comes in and waits for it....So come on and think about giving this sweet older girl an nice loving home.

3/18/10 - Chyna arrived in her foster home today.  She was surrendered, by her owners, to a shelter in NY.  This sweet and friendly girl is reported to be good with other dogs and loves people.  She is also fine with cats and children and ikes toys and balls and is very playful.  But she can get hyper around children so perhaps children over 5 would be best. She does not like rain or vacuums. Watch for updates and new photos of this lovely lady.
