4/2/10 - Kimi is pending adoption 3/6/10 - Good news! Kimi's tumor in her mouth is benign. Because the T-4 (thyroid test) was low we had the vet to a free T-4 and the results were normal, but in the low range. Kimi does not need any medication. She now has no medical issues, and can now be placed in a forever home. 2/1/10 - Kimi is doing well here. She is enjoying playing with the other dogs & playing with toys. She gets up in the AM and heads for a toy, not for the yard to potty. This little girl has a lot of energy and is always ready to engage in play with me or with one of the dogs. She doesn't mind the snow at all. She even likes to eat snow sometimes. She is eating 3 cups of food in the AM, and 3 in the evening for dinner. She has slept with me in my room at night and she sleeps in the crate too with no problems. She is quite comical walking around with a toy in her mouth whenever she has a chance. Kimi listens well, and adapted quickly to the routine here. I am sure she can adapt anywhere. If there is another dog for her play with, that would be just what she is looking for. 1/24/10 - Kimi is getting to just the right weight. She is a little over 50 lbs. now, and probably only needs about 4 more lbs. on her. She gets along well with all 4 dogs in the house, both male and female. She loves toys! She has discovered the squeeky toys, the rope toys and of course the ball. She loves them all...carries them around with her and plays toss with them. She is as playful as a 2 year old boxer. And she will take a dash around the yard to burn off some energy. There were 2 deer in the yard the other day...beyond the fence & Kimi didn't even take notice of them while she was outside. She came when I called her, and there was no problems. Kimi listens well, knows basic commands, does not counter surf, likes to lay in the same room with you, and gives kisses. She is a quiet girl, as I haven't heard her bark yet...unlike mine who bark all day at every noise. Kimi likes to go on walks. She may need a slight reminder now & then to not walk ahead, but she is easy to walk & sits when you stop. This is one great little girl to have as a companion. I will bet she is the one you are looking for. 1/13/10 - Kimi is learning the routine here and adjusting very well. She eats in the kitchen with the other dogs and there are no problems. It did not take her long to learn that going in the crate gets you a "cookie". She now goes in with no hesitation and waits for her snack. She even was snoozing in an open crate the other afternoon. She has learned to sit and wait for her food and my ok to eat. Her kennel cough is pretty much cleared up and for a 7 year old boxer, has the energy of a 3 year old and very little graying, so you would not know she is 7. She is a fast learner, walks well on the leash, sits when you stop walking and is blending in well with my crew of 4. Put your apps. in for this girl. She is easy to take care of, loves to play fetch and catch with a ball, has energy to play with another dog...what more could you want? 1/10/10 - Kimi's kennel cough is much better. I got her upstairs yesterday with my 4 boxers. The introductions went fine. She is eating 6-7 cups of food a day till she gets more meat on her bones. She went to the vet. and weighed in at 47.6 lbs. She knows sit, stay, come, and no. She is a petite girl and likes to follow me around the house. She is getting used to the crate now and settles in quickly. She likes milk bone snacks, so that should help getting the lbs. on her. It has been very cold here, so when she is out in the yard she doesn't want to stay out too long, however, when I put her out with my dogs she wanted to play. Actually, she was playing a bit rough for a couple of them and she needs to learn to play a bit gentler for them. The cold didn't seem to phase her while she was busy playing. She doesn't jump on me when greeting, which is nice. She will give kisses and still likes to play fetch and catch with a ball.
1/1/10 - Kimi arrived her yesterday afternoon via Manhattan's New
Hope van...Very nice driver! She is quite thin, needing probably at
least 10 lbs. on her. Kimi is a petite girl, sweet, friendly and even
playful. She likes a
tennis ball! It didn't take too long to get her tail wagging,
some kisses from her, and a little game of fetch with the tennis ball in
the house. Unfortunately, she has kennel cough right now, so she is
being separated from my 4 boxers for now. She did climb over the
baracade I made and snuck up the stairs...she met my boxers at the
gate...mine barked, Kimi had no response, so I am sure when they
officially meet, there will be no problems. Kimi is eating well.
She is being fed 3 times a day for now along with some snacks. She
whined for about 30 seconds the 1st time she was put in the crate, but
settled right down and remained quiet throughout the night. She does
need a little coaxing to go in the crate, but there are no problems once
she is in. Kimi sees the vet. on Tues. This little girl is very sweet &
quiet...I am sure many of you will want her! |
